Mark Lipczynski (pronounced “Lip-chin-ski”) resides in the suburbs of Phoenix, Arizona by way of a scrappy little blue collar town in Ohio called Warren. He grew up in a self-made, no-nonsense culture where he learned to be resourceful and work with his hands. He likes to laugh and have fun, but says “I’m mostly pragmatic and motivated to always be productive.”
While studying at the University of Maine, in Orono, Mark mentored under a visiting professor from the University of Missouri, School of Photojournalism. After college Mark immediately started working as a newspaper photographer shooting daily assignments under the pressure to produce good work on deadline. Besides shooting and writing every day, he also enjoys learning about science, looking at art, loving on his dogs, making coffee, and spending time with family.
Since leaving his last newspaper job at The Arizona Republic, Mark has been busy shooting portraits, stories and campaigns for the travel and tourism industry, social media platforms, healthcare, education, and hospitality for local and national clients.
Most recent clients include: PING Golf, National Bank of Arizona, Banner Health, Shamrock Foods and The Wall Street Journal.
Memberships and public galleries can be found online at ASMP, Creative Hotlist, Art Intersection, PDN (Photo+), Lens Culture and National Geographic. Recent accolades include the 2017 Best of ASMP and 2018 American Photography AP34.
